Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
In a nut shell: sister and her 3 kids move into family home and in a weeks time told family to stay away or she will call the police, went to court to get order to enter home and do an inspection. We ( my brothers and myself) find that a car that belongs to one of us which was parked in the garage is now in the driveway with the dash board torn out and body damage. I find out from talking to a nephew that he saw the oldest son of my sister now 17 kicking , throwing rocks and such at the car while mother was laughing. Police could not do anything, How do I go about pressing charges?
1 Answer from Attorneys
This is very confusing. You will need to sit with an attorney who can make heads or tails of this situation and what it is you seem to want done. If the police will do nothing you'd have to see the City attorney, State's Attorney, or your own attorney.
