opened a credit card w/out person permission

if you opened up a charge card in the person you live with names, and he had no knowledge of. found out later you did and worked with the credit card company, said he did not want to press charges, got a loan and paid off the two credit cards.in full, over the amount of 20,000.00. made arrangements for the person to pay him back the money he paid on the cards. can he still press criminal charges on me.after we made a signed agreement and credit card people are not pressing charge.he always states he can put me in jail for stealing the credit cards.

The answer is yes. Since what you did was a felony, all he has to do is call the police and the State will prosecute you. The State will ignore your agreement with your roommate. The State is not bound by the agreement. Your roommate will then become a witness to the crime, and he'll have to testify against you or he could be held in contempt by the court. You have already confessed by signing the agreement. You are in a real bad situation.
