Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Parent in Jail without knowing why?

I will try to make this short. My mother is on Probation for Fraud. This was her first offense so she was given a 2 year probation. All was well until one month she forgot to go because she lost her organizer. Walking down a bad neighborhood on her way to my Uncle's house, she was stopped by plain clothes police who just happen to be doing a prostitution sting in the area. She was asked if she was a prostitute. My mother responded no and was on her way to her brother's house. The cop not believing her, asked for her information to run on the computer. Not knowing that she had a warrent for not going to probation gave her info. She was then placed under arrest and was taken in. After being in jail for a couple of weeks, she went to court was her probation was re-instated. She was ordered released. She signed her papers and was on her way out the door when she was then told that there is new charges and was taken in to custody again. I tried contacting the clerk's office and haven't gotten anywhere with them. Need help. Thanks.

Re: Parent in Jail without knowing why?

I suggest that you call the jail and the clerk's office again. If you don't get anywhere then I would suggest you hire an attorney to investigate this matter and make sure that your mother is being represented.
