Can a person in Illinois go to jail for knowingly spreading hepatitis c?

There is no statute dealing with HCV and knowing infection. The courts would therefore default to common law. HCV criminal cases are very rare, but it is theoretically possible that exposing someone to HCV through sex, or other contact involving a "significant" risk (i.e. not day to day contact) could exposes someone to criminal liability...
