Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Police and prosecutorial misconduct
Taken to the police station after a traffic stop. the driver and two passengers were diven in one squad car. I was put into a squad car later by myself. I was the only person put in a cell. my question is this are all police questionings recorded or videotaped? After being escorted to the basement of the city jail. I was asked if I knew why I was there? I said no. They responded by saying there was a meth lab found in the back of the vehichle. Was I willing to answer there questions? I said no, I would like to talk to my attorney. 3 officers at the same time stood up, slamming there clipboards on the table and kicking there chairs over. There was an officer at the stairwell and one at the only dooway out. With oall the officers hollering, I said alright I`ll answer a few questions. I then initialed the miranda doc. and answered about six questions. I then asked, if your going to keep me here. could you send someone for my medication.I was indicted for 2 crim. drug conspiracies with intent to mfg. and poss. of meth materials. 2 people wrote statements against me, one refused to talk. The Grand Jury was told that was in no condition to be questioned. That is lieing to the Gr. Jury. Is questioning recorded or videotaped?Po. misc.?

Re: Police and prosecutorial misconduct
It certainly appears that the police over stepped their bounds. I strongly suggest that you hire an attorney who can then findout if this particular police department keeps video and, if so, make sure that the tape is preserved.
