Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
PRoctection Order
A roommate, who I was also teammates with had clashing personalities and never really had a friendship. We had a couple fights over petty girl things. She filed a protection order against me beack in November of 2006, case was dismissed. I have now come back to school for the semester and as of January 16 she has filed for another protection order. Her claims are completely false and mostly exaggerated. She is continuing to slander my character based on absolutely nothing. Her first case was dismissed and I have not contacted or communnicated with her at any point in time, ever. This has nothing to do with domestic violence, at what point can I pursue damages for these serious allegations that are ruining my reputation? What can I do?

Re: PRoctection Order
Hello. In my opinion you can file a lawsuit now against this person for slander and defamation of your character. This needs to be done within 1 year of the occurrences. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
