Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Public Urination in Chicago

I was recently issued a citation for public urination. The officer told me that I could mail-in payment for the offense but then presented a ticket with an appearance in front of the Department of Administrative Hearings on W. Superior.

My questions are two-fold: 1) Do i need an attorney to attend the hearing (even though it's not in front of a judge) and 2)I am a pediatric social worker and do not want this on my record for obvious reasons--will this appear on my record?

Hello. I suggests that you retain an attorney

to represent you at this hearing. This will be

an administrative hearing and you should not take

this lightly. You are right to be concerned about this showing up on your permanent records.

additional questions that you may have.
