Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

questioned in ''cold case'' murder

I was questioned for an unsolved 31 yr old murder case from Chicago. Told my fingerprint found in victims car. They had court order to print me and take baccal swab to compare. Negative result on print, told I would not see them again. I know am not involved, have no idea who victim is or any thing. What should I have done or should I do? Scared to death!

I was a 19 yr old kid,in 1975, from the suburbs, they are talking about a person beaten to death in highrise apt. on Chicago north side, not a chance in hell!

Re: questioned in ''cold case'' murder

The best thing you can do is keep a Chicago area lawyer's phone number close at hand. Do not talk further with police without hiring the lawyer, and getting his advise. If you need a lawyer in the future, please keep my phone number handy.
