Re: questioning
There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you should decline to make any statements at all to any law enforcement officer conducting an investigation, no matter what that law enforcement officer says to you or does to you for that matter. You have a Constitutional right not to make any statements without the advice of an attorney and there are millions of reasons why you should stand on that right. I can't tell you how many clients I have had over the years who have been tricked by law enforcement into making statements which were later used to convict that person. DON'T DO IT! The next time they contact you, tell them that you will not be making any statements whatsoever on the advice of your attorney. If you are taken into custody, stick to your guns, refuse to make any statement and ask to call your lawyer. The ONLY reason law enforcement wants a statement from you is to use against you, no matter what law enforcement tells you. THEY LIE! ALL THE TIME! Please, please follow this advice. You will not regret it.
