Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Recording telephone conversations
I've been advised by mt attorney to record telephone conversations with various persons in Arizona regarding a change in custody. I've been told it's legal there. Is it legal for me to record my conversations from Illinois with the parties in AZ without their knowlege and consent?

Re: Recording telephone conversations
Hello
No. In my opinion the
recording of conversations
across state lines is not
legal because it violates
the existing federal law
prohibiting taping, without
notice to the party being
taped. I hope this informa-
tion is helpful.
