Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

How do I ask for release/pardon for my son?

My son has been in prison for over 3 years, he caught the case before the 85% law took effect, but that was used for his sentencing. It was a 1st time offense, he'd never had trouble with the law before, he's been a model prisoner, taken college courses and vocation courses, both myself and my husband are getting up in age and have medical problems,

and since prisons are over crowded, unstaffed and under financed, we'd like to get him home with us, but have no idea how to go about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. In order to seek a pardon from the governor of the state of Illinois, it is necessary to file a petition for pardon with the

review board. This is a complicated procedure and legal representation is advisable. Once the

petition is filed it will be necessary for your son to appear before a panel; usual about 20 people from around the State of Illinois who have the responsible of hearing pleas for a pardon and then making a recommendation to the governor of the state of Illinois. For example,

in Chicago, this hearing takes place in the State of Illinois Building aka the Thompson Bld.

One seeking a pardon sits, until his or her case

is called. You have the advantage of listening to the pleas of others. I have successful obtained a pardon for a lady charged with aggravated battery. Governor Edgar granted the pardon. Your case would be one that would interest me.
