Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Residential Burglary
I am a guardian to a 17 yr old. Charged w/ res. burglary as an adult. He has misdemeanors as a juvenile, but to felonies. Can his juvi past be considered now? He has 2 Battery misdemeanor charges as an adult (unrelated to the burglary)..Can he ask his Public Defender to ask the court for Boot Camp? Does the States Attorney have to agree also? Do you know if I can talk to his Public Defender, once he assigned one? I know he is being charged as an adult, but I don't not think he will fully understand or ask the right questions. Thank you for your time.

Re: Residential Burglary
If he is currently a minor and you are his guardian then you should be able to talk to the public defender. When you do, you can ask all of these questions.
