Hello. My response here is based on the information that you have posted on this web site.

You should immediately hire a lawyer, if you have not already done so. Attempting to do this on your own is counter productive. It may be necessary for a lawyer representing you to contact the office of the Cook County State's Attorney and the Office of the United States Attorney to verify that criminal charges are pending. Mistakes can be made and the information that there are charges pending when you apply for jobs could be inaccurate. There are additional comments and suggestions that I can make.

The fastest way for you to determine what's going on is to hire an attorney to contact the local and federal prosecutors to find out about your situation. If your items were seized in 2008, enough time has passed so that you should have some idea if any investigation going on against you. If you have no idea why you would be investigation it may be an error. This does happen occasionally and it is possible that your record has an error on it that was never removed.

If you would like to talk about your matter in greater detail or need help, feel free to contact my office at 773-791-9682.

Good luck
