Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Sex abuse.
Neighbor boy (14) molested 3 of my kids and another child. Ages 12,8,8,5. One eight year old is mentally retarded. He is charged with class 2 felony and class X felony. What do those entail? States attorn. says he might get off with probation and court ordered counseling! Is there anything else we can do to get stiffer punishment enforced?

You can appeal to the judge during the sentencing hearing if you are able. You can ensure that you try to pressure the state's attorney into pressing for more serious punishment. Aside from that, it ultimately comes down to the fact that he is a minor and a court will often rule that this child needs help rather than jail. The state's attorney is your representative - appeal to them.
