Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

sexual offenders

I have a 16 year old niece who just married a 24 year old man who was previosly convicted of a sex crime against a minor. Because her parents signed for her to get married, the police say it is legally ok for him to have sexual relations with my underage neice. My question is, Is there any law that could have this man baught to justice and forced to get some kind of counseling,as well as preventing him from having contact with any other minors?

Re: sexual offenders

I am afraid you cannot do anything to prevent your niece's marriage because she got her parents' consent. As for his issues, they were already dealt with by a court of law if he was already convicted and he may already have gone to counselling, etc. as part of his sentence. However, I am afraid that, despite your concerns, there is nothing you can do.
