Re: simply battery

You do not mention if you were given a court date. I assume that you were. It is important, in order to have this matter over quickly as possible to have an attorney before you go to court, or else the judge will give you another date and make you return with a lawyer. In order to resolve the matter in your favor, it is likely that a trial will be needed. In these type of cases it is very difficult to prove a case against you beyond a reasonable doubt, but you need to contest the matter for a favorable outcome. If you are not aware, the charge of battery is a Class "A" misdemeanor that carries a possible sentence of up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. If you wish to discuss your case you can call 630-243-0099.
