Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

How can I help my son get his case exspunged? This case was when he was 17 , Now he is 25., has a family and wants to join the armed services which he said every since he was 9 years old.. He as not had any trouble with the law since then and finished high school while being sentenced going back to house of corrections. Me has a mother want the best for her child. know matter how old they are.. To service our country, put his life on the line I think he should be given a chance has an American.
