Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

about my sons case

right now we have a public defender and every time i put a call in to her she doesn't return my call and right now my dad is trying to hire a lawyer and i have put in three calls to the lawyer and he has not returned my call back yet i don't know what i should do i know for a fact that my dad and i really do not have the money to hire a lawyer what should we do.

If you do not have the money to hire a private attorney who will return your calls, then it would appear that your son is stuck with a public defender. You refer to your son's case. Did it occur to you that your son is the attorney's client, not you and not your dad? Perhaps your son has not authorized the attorney to speak with anyone else concerning the case. The attorney has a duty to maintain his client's confidentiality after all.
