Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
State of Illinois - I have been charged with "Bringing Contraband in a penal institution (at a local jail), a class 3 felony in the State of Illinois. I am also charged with "official misconduct" because I was the City Clerk at the time it happened, a class 3 felony ?, At any rate, I am considering a trial because the offer is guilty please to both counts and "no jail time".
Question: If found guilty of the crimes, can I then be sentenced to jail time? I have NO PRIOR arrest.

Yes you can be sentenced to jail if found guilty after a trial. What was the a contraband the State is alleging you attempted to bring into the jail?
