Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My soon to be ex has stated numerous times that she wishes I were dead and has said that I should commit suicide. Has said, "You better look both ways when crossing the street". I recently learned that she expressed her wishes for my death to her father, who told her, "Don't worry, he'll be dead in 6-9 months". Note I do not suffer from any terminal illness. Can any of these statement, either by my wife or from her father, be considered a death threat, or any kind of threat? Are there any criminal charges that could be filed?
