Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
statement information
I just came out of surgery three 3 days before the police arrested my boyfriend and I was still on morphene, ibueprofen, and tylenol 3 when they asked me questions i was histerical i was crying and the police started asking me questions regarding my boyfriend and i answered them. they asked me how long i've know my boyfriend and i told them like two years and i told them i've known his mom for like 8 or 9 years and i explained to the officer that i said i've known his mom for 8 or 9 years and not him, i don't really remember all the questions he asked me i just remember 3 questions he also asked me if my father drinks and i said sometimes because he can't drink and if he does he'll end up in the hospital. When i read the satement i gave them like 2 months afterwords and it said that i told the officer that i've known my boyfriend for 8 or 9 years and it said i told them that my father was a drunk. My question is can they use my statement in court or do they have to throw it out since the police officer wrote down the wrong things and if they have to throw it out because of the condition i was in?

Re: statement information
Your situation sounds complicated and is confusing. Its my believe that with that amount of medication, your statements may not be able to be used at trial, but may be used in a grandjury. Were you charged with anything? I recommend contacting a criminal attorney
