Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Stolen check book
My son stole a check book and although he did not actually write a check, he was involved with someone who did write a check on the account for $500. This would be his first criminal offence. What kind of punishment might he be looking at and what would the typical charges be for a situation like this?

He's looking at felony theft by deception at the minimum. Good luck.
