Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Talking to an attorney at the prison
Can an attorney go talk to the prisoner? Based on the details of their case, they would like to know if they could put in a request for a early release. (Or at least talk to an attorney about their case.)

An attorney can talk to a prisoner in prison. However, there is no provision in Illinois law that allows for an early release. The prisoner could petition the governor for a comutation of sentence. The governor granting such a petition is extremely rare.
