Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Talking to a minor
I met a girl on an online game almost a year ago. She is 16 and I am 21. We have become friends and talk on the phone every day. Her mom lets her use her cell phone to call me. She got in an argument with her step dad, her step dad called the police and told them about me. The police called me and said it is illegal for me to talk to her, even on the phone. it doesn't matter if we do live in other states, the police said i will go to jail if I keep tlking to her. Her mom does not mind us talking and said we can still talk. her mom invited me to visit her for Christmas, and her mom will be with us the whole time, we wont be alone. Were the police telling the truth? Can I go to jail for talking to her over the phone or visiting her, even if her mother approves and watches over us?

Re: Talking to a minor
There is no such law as talking to a minor. If you touch or fondle a minor you'd be in big trouble. It doesn't matter that momma approves. Do yourself a favor and find a woman your own age instead of a girl of 16. In my day those girls were called "jail bait." Grow up.
