Illinois law states that when a person is 17 he can be tried as an adult. Also, $600.00 theft is a felony for which your son could go to prison from 1 to 3 years. You need a lawyer. Please call for a free consultation.

Your son definitely needs an attorney. This case may be charged as a felony, and can carry prison time of up to three years. For purposes of Illinois criminal law, he is an adult at 17 years of age. The fine for the offense is potentially $25,000.00. If you wish to talk about it, please call the office or respond by return e-mail.
