Re: how much time?
First, he could be facing a violation of parol. The domestic violence charge is probably a battery. It carries up to one year in Cook County Jail with no good time given. Obstruction of justice is a misdemeanor and carries a maximunm of 1 year in Cook County Jail. Please call me for a free consultation.
Re: how much time?
Overall, the violation of Parole (or is it probation... the answer is still the same regardless) is a much more serious charge than that of the domestic abuse charge, unless there was some serious injury...
As in most States you're facing the possibility of mandatory minimums for jail sentences for such a violation.

Re: how much time?
Regarding the domestic it depends on how it is charged. If it is as a Class A misdemeanor it can be up to a year. If it is as a felony, he can receive up to 7 years in prison. This is a very serious situation. We handle matters at domestic violence court on Harrison regularly and felony cases at 26th St. on a daily basis. For further information, please see our website at shestokas.com. There is a section regarding domestic battery. There is also a contact page to get further information about your friend's situation.
