Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

unlawful possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams
I was ice fishing on a local public lake in my ice shanty. Inside I was smoking a joint,when 2 conservation police aproached my shanty. After extinguishing the joint and opening vents ,I exited shanty and met officers with fishing lisence. After checking lisence officers walked to shanty and looked inside. Apon what I assume they smelled, they asked me ''whers the weed, and pipes?''At what point I surrendered from my coat pocket 2.5 joints, no pipes. I received a citation for possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams and was released with a manditory court date.what do I do now?
