Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
unlawful possession of cannabis
Last thursday I was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis. I was with a friend on their balcony and she was smoking when a cop came in and saw. Now, I didn't have any on me when they searched and she claimed all the marijuana to be hers. So my question is, could they still legally charge me for unlawful possession? and, how legitimate will their case be against me you think?

Re: unlawful possession of cannabis
You should hire an attorney to defend you. If you proceed to trial and the state has no proof that you possessed marijuana it would make sense for you to win.
