Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I was walking through an apartment complex to visit family who lives there and a cop stopped me
and gave me a trespassing ticket even though I wasn't causing trouble and was invited onto the property. What should I say in court?

I have a feeling something is missing from this story. Had the landlord, manager, etc. previously told you not to return? If so, you were a trespasser despite the invitation from your relative.

You can always plead not guilty and ask the court to set your case for trial.
