Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I got a warrant for failure to appear to court over a year ago. I have no taken care of the warrant yet. I now need to go into the DMV to reinstate my drivers license. My question is, can I go into the DMV and pay the reinstatement fee for my license, and get a new license without being arrested on my warrant?
Thanks.

It would be my guess that you are going to have to deal with the traffic offense prior to renewing your DL

You will nor be arrested at the DMV.
However depending on the underlying offense that you did not appear for, there may be a "hold" upon your DL. Call the DMV and speak with a clerk about your DL and ask if there are any "hold" or obstacles to you renewing.
