Unlawful use of a weapon is a class 4 felony, carrying up to 3 years in prison. There are many other types of weapons charges in Illinois from Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon to Aggravated Discharge to Gunrunning. Other crimes including Sexual Assault and Robbery have increased penalties if there is a weapon involved. Please see:
