what will the charges be
social seccurity checks are deposited into the account of a deseased person. another person writes checks from that account in the amount of $9,000 what will the punishment be in court? The person admits to forging the deseased persons name on the checks to the bank, before the courts got involed. What will happen in court?

Theft of social security checks is a federal offense. That doesn't mean the feds won't leave the prosecution to the state. It's difficult to determinr the federal punishment because of the guidelines that involve a complex formula. However, it almost always requires prison time. On the state side, if the person who cashed the checks is a first offender, he is likely to get probation with restitution. Please call for further discussion.
