Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

I was wondering if it is legal for a male officer to put a wire on a female? I was helping with a case and they wanted me to wear a wire and they had a female officer placing the wire, and searching me but, they took her off the case and now a male officer does it. He has to hook it in my bra and also searches me before and after I come out. They also, talk about other cases and people in front of me. Some of this I really don't want to know.
