Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

I caught My first DUI in July of 2009 & a 2nd one in September of 2009 along with a drug charge due to someone who i gave a ride home to got into a fight with her boyfriend and he pulled her out of my car and dumped her purse out on the passenger floor... there were several dollar bills crumbled up so my first reaction was good at least I got some money for gas..So I grabbed them & threw it in my change purse since I was Driving & getting on the expressway.. Went to Schaumburg to meet my friend to go & eat & was pulled over at Road side safety check due to my right Head light was out..Then was arrested cause I blew 2 points above the legal limit but I was never shown those results after I had not drank for like 3 hours prior at a birthday party. I searved almost 3 days in jail & after paying my lawyer $7,000 & $ 2,400 in cort cost cause he continued the case every month for 9 months now Have IPL & have many questions & my lawyer is not returning any of my calls--the probation officers showed up at my home on Monday For A DNA Test?? Why?? I am a 40 year old single ma of 2 children. Worked 20 years straight & was laid off last year--I truely believe My lawyer Screwed Me!!Please Help Me!! Thanks

Hire a new lawyer and get some proper advice. If you cannot afford one maybe the Public Defender can help you, otherwise perhaps if you call a local Bar Association, a law school (if they have a legal clinic), or even Legal Assistance Foundation. The kinds of organizations often can all recommend someone who will help you for little or no money or with a fair payment plan. It sounds like you got a bum deal though but it is really hard to know without getting into the facts more with you. Best of luck to you! Attorney Alex
