Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

drivers licence

I have two dui in 22 years one in ca, aand one in texas, the last was over 11 years ago, i have to get my licence in co, and have been informed that Ill has a freeze on it. I had an alchol eval done here in co and sent it to Ill and was denied for the reason that i could not get a certificate from texas stating i went to dui school and grad. they said it was purged, but did send a letter stating the date i grad, but that wasnt enough for ILL. Now what can I do??

Re: drivers licence

I have several questions for you. First, why are you trying to get a license in Illinois? Illinois will turn you down if you license is not clear in California or Colorado. Typically, you need to clear your license in the State that suspended or revoked you. Is there another reason that Illinois has a stop on your license? I need to have several facts and issues clarified before one can give specific direction.

Re: drivers licence

Get turned down in writing. Request a hearing within 30 days. If you can show that Colorado law would allow you to have a license and that you qualify as a Coloraco resident, then you will be given a license.
