Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

Drivers License

If your license is suspended in one state, does that mean it's suspended in every state? If so, how can I go about getting it re-enstated. Had a DUI about 4 years ago, missed court date, moved out of the state. Is there any way I can just pay fines, fees, etc. to to get my license?

Re: Drivers License

Your question is complicated and impacted by the Interstate Compact. I would speculate that if the DUI was in Illinois, you would have to petition to reinstate the Illinois matter, etc. In what Illinois county did this take place? You need a lawyer.

Re: Drivers License

You need a lawyer to reinstate the original DUI charges, and go from there. Yes, you are suspended in all states because of the interstate compact. If you do this alone, and just pay the fines, fees, ect. you will have a conviction, and prolong the suspension. Get a lawyer.
