Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

Dui in Illinois with failure to appear

I was arrested for DUI in Ford Co. Il. I blew .089 on scene and at jail blew .12. I was bailed out and received my court date. While on my way to court my friends car broke down and was unable to attend. I live in Tennessee and I want to take care of this, but am really wondering if they will come and get me. I have just been offered a job and would like to work to take care of this but do not want to be arrested at work. This is my first DUI. Also my tennesse license was suspended for failure to attend driving school for first speeding ticket 4 months ago. Would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Re: Dui in Illinois with failure to appear

I suggest you hire an attorney, and have him motion your case before the court. Do this ASAP. Your failure to act will likely result in license revocation,(Illinois and Tennessee,if that is the license issuing state), and a warrant for your arrest. DO NOT DELAY.

Unfortunately, Ford County is the other side of the state for me. However, based on your fact situation, I strongly suspect that a warrant has issued for your arrest. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER! I would counsel you to call the Ford County Bar Association and get a referral to someone who practices there, sooner than later. Good Luck!
