A person should always get a Lawyer for a DUI. Is it pending or complete?
Re: Dui laws in illinois
Your friend should absolutely get a lawyer. If this is her first offense, it is quite likely that this matter can be resolved without a conviction. But it won't be inexpensive with all the court costs, etc., involved. Where is the case pending??
Re: Dui laws in illinois
There is no doubt that your friend needs an attorney and some of the previous responses have been very good. I have handled a large number of DWI's in various counties throughout Illinois, so either you or your friend can call me for a consultation at no cost.

A first offense DUI in Illinois, typically is a Class A misdemeanor with maximum possible penalties of a $2,500 fine, 1 year in jail, or both. A conviction will likely result in revocation of her driving privileges.
Yes, she needs an attorney.
