Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

Kansas license suspended after move to Illinois.

I have recently been given my notice that the Kansas Department of Revenue is suspending my license for 30 days due to my DUI I received in December of 2005. However, before the ruling (almost six months from the date of the hearing), I had moved to Illinois for a new job, and with the move I was able to obtain an Illinois Driver's license. Since my ''home'' driver's license is now Illinois, will the Kansas suspension apply to the state of Illinois?

Re: Kansas license suspended after move to Illinois.

Hello. The Kansas ruling will not affect your

Illinois driver's license, unless the Illinois

Secretary of State finds out about the Kansas

matter. If this happens, Illinois may revoke

or suspend your license based upon the Kansas

ruling. Will be happy to discuss this with you

further.
