Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

I live in Illinois, I got a d.u.i and have 100hrs of court ordered community service to do, and have completed 56hrs so far. By Illinois law am I required to do all 100hrs, or do I do half and get credit for the remaining 50hrs? I ask because everyone I talk to say its Illinois law and that they've only done half of theirs and that my probation officer should have informed me of this?

There is no Illinois law allowing for hours credit for community service. If you are required to complete 100 hours then you need to complete 100 unless the court waives your hours. I would not risk the court waiving your hours because your failure to complete the hours required are grounds for the state's attorney to file a violation against you which could result in jail time or a conviction.

Do not listen to the stories you hear because everyone will tell you something different. Consult proper legal advice.

good luck
