Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

how long can it take for a license to be revoked?

My husband recieved a felony DUI 2 1/2 years ago(due to injuries to the other driver)and pleaded down to a misdemeaner 1 1/2 years ago.His license has never been revoked(I checked). Is there some sort of statute of limitations as to when the state can come back and take his license? Is there something else we should do?

Re: how long can it take for a license to be revoked?

If your husband ultimately received supervision for the reduced misdemeanor, then his license will not be revoked as long as he fulfills the terms of the supervision. (The terms being taking his required classes, paying the fines, and other things that the court ordered as conditions of his supervision.)

If he did not receive supervision, then there was probably a miscommunication to the secretary of state's office, and at whatever point the office learns of the conviction, his license will become revoked.
