Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

What can I do to prevent getting my court supervision revoked after being summon

I have been under court supervision for almost 1 year and I could not afford to take time off work to take dri roads classes and I also got a bogus ticket for illegal consumption in April 2005. Now the court has sent out a notice to appear in court to revoke my court supervision. I am clueless on what to do now??? My parents are not able to help me at this time. I paid all my fines and I made the mistake of not taking the dri roads seriously. I also should have lied to the cops about having one drink at the April 2005 party. I did not know that I was getting an illegal consumption ticket. It is all a big mistake! Help!

What is the basis for the petition to revoke? Is it your failure to take classes or your illegal consumption charge, or both? If it is your failure to take classes, I recommend that you start them immediately. The court may have leniency on you if you show them that you are attempting to comply with your supervision order. I am happy to discuss your case further. Feel free to call me at 309-275-6677.

You didn't mention in what county the DUI is pending in; that's important as some counties/judges are more lenient than others. In any event, the state has filed a "PTR"--petition to revoke. It must be answered, or the guilty plea that you entered will be entered as a conviction. You also did not mention what the basis of the PTR was. Bottom line: you need legal representation. Now, not later, so your rights will not be impacted, and your driving privileges revoked. If this case is in the Chicago Metro area, you may call me at (630)893-2494.
