Re: statute of limitioms

There is no statute of limitations which will help you in your situation. Such a law only requires that a suit be filed, or charges brought, within a certain period of time. In your question, you admit that you have already been charged, so the statute of limitaitons does not even come into play. In addition, any law or rule that might help you has been nullified since you failed to appear in court and are considered to be a fugitive. There is almost certainly an outstanding warrant for you. That will be included in several nationwide or even worldwide data bases accesable to all law enforcement authorities. If I were you, I would hire an attorney to try to get the warrant cancelled and get the case disposed of before something bad happens. Good luck.

The statute of limitations apply only to charging a person with a crime (in your case DUI). Since you've been charged, there is no statute of limitations problem. There is probably a warrant for your arrest for not answering to the charges. Your Arizona license can be affected by this. You should come back to Illinois and clear up your record.
