Underage Alcohol Consumption
What type of lawyer do I hire to represent my son who was arrested and charged with underage alcohol consumption. He was at a private residence and driving was NOT involved.

You will want to hire a criminal-defense lawyer. Minor consumption is a Class A misdemeanor if charged in state court. (BTW: Criminal-defense lawyers typically handle felonies, misdemeanors, DUIs, and traffic offenses.)

Many attorneys should be able to represent your son including criminal defense attorneys and general practioners. The important thing to accomplish is to avoid a conviction being entered on your son's record, and most attorneys should be able to do this.
