Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois
Looking at 105 ILCS 5/14-1.11a regarding school residency in Illinois.
If I am 18, it appears to say that my "resident district" is - quite simply - wherever my residence is. If I move out on my own, but want to finish high school, can an Illinois school district (other than where I formerly lived) deny me registration on the basis of residency?

Hello. I am aware of many situations where students have been told that they cannot continue to attend a school because they are not residents of the school disctrict. If you move out of the district in which your school is in, it is highly possible that the school will determine that you are no longer eligible to continue there. Think about any move carefully. You should certainly review the residency requirements of the school you presently attend.
