Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois
bullies in school
I have a friend whose son has been bullied for 3 years now. He has been beaten up and called names and such. He finally said something back to them and now the bullies are crying that their lives are in danger. The school and school district will do nothing to punish the bullies for what they have done but are punishing this boy for saying something back to them after all this time. How can she go about suing the school district?

Re: bullies in school
Bullying has become a national problem. In fact, some States have enacted specific laws to deal with this offense by minors. Your friend should compose a list of witnesses and other evidence to show that they have put the School on notice that their child was being bullied. Here is where the liability of the School District is established. Now the best way to start is to retain a lawyer. The lawsuit will have to be filed in the County of the School District. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
