Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois

If I had a DWI in the state of Illinois ,never saw the jugde went out of town due to medical conditions ,am doing much better now going to a treatment program tending school to be a substance abuse counseler -am taking care of my medical issuses and tending to my mother's health .if I get legal help do I still need to go back to the state of Illinois to see the Jugde to deal with this Issue or can that be taken care of from out of town ? Please answer a.s.a.p. Thank you !

You may be able to handle this without a trip back to Ill. You should contact a NY lawyer and get a referral to a lawyer in Ill. The two attorneys can work out the details. Under the worst of circumstances, you go back to Ill. Your work on recovery will help you get a good result.
