Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois
Public Education
Is there an acceptable level of force a teacher can use to remove an unruley student from their classroom. What are the laws pertaining to the use of force by a public school teacher to maintain order in the classroom?

Hello. I just received your posting. It is best that a teacher get security to remove a student now.
There has been a shift in the law and now teachers can be sued for almost anything. The level of force a teacher can use is only an issue, in my opinion, when danger to the teacher or to another student is possible on account of the disruptive
student. I will be happy to discuss this with you further should you have any additional questions.
