Time off for religious holidays

i am a school official that has a teacher that wants 6 days off school for religious holidays. she has a union contract that gives her 3 days off for religion. the teacher has offered to pay for a substitute hereself, if we would pay her, her regular salary. What accomidation do we have to give this teacher?
