Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois
My ex wife and I still live together with our 16 year old daughter in a house that I own. My ex was designated as the primary caregiver in our divorce. My daughter received a truancy ticket from the police with a court date. Hypothetically, if we did not show up for the court date, which parent would the court find to face a fine/jail time?

Primary does not mean only, you are not using the correct terminology, and if custody is joint in any way, both parents are responsible. What is troubling is you are more concerned about yourself than your daughter's truancy; we trust that is not the case and that you will do what is best for your daughter.
